Empty Space

A space in the table or tableau where a column of cards used to be on initial deal or setup.

Face Cards

The King, Queen, and Jack cards in a standard 52-card deck.

Face-Down

A state where the rank and suit of a card is not visible on the play surface.

Face-Up

A state where the rank and suit of a card is visible on the play surface.

Foundation

A space where cards of the same suit are stacked in ascending rank order starting with an Ace.
